Ideal for draining standing water from swimming pools, fountains, and flooded basements, the Superior Pump can move up to 30 gallons a minute, whisking away water to an 1/8-inch to the ground. Fully submersible, the Superior Pump features a 10-foot, replaceable, waterproof power cord, and is able to lift water up to 25 feet vertically. It’s equipped with a large 1-1/4-inch male iron pipe discharge thread for high capacity pumping, and includes a garden hose adapter for your convenience. With the addition of an optional float switch, the Superior Pump can also be used as a sump pump.

Great pump I have a swimming pool that needed to be drained. It was filled with green water, leaves and debris. This pump did a great job draining it.Yes if you buy the larger hose it will pump faster but I wasn’t in much of a hurry so I just used a standard garden hose.A garden hose attaches easily. I also used a 5 gallon bucket drilled with many small holes.I placed the pump in the bucket and lowered the bucket into the 8ft deep pool.The buckets keeps the leaves and debris away from the pump.After draining the pool the pump ran dry a few times because I wasn’t paying attention. No damage done.I’m very happy with this pump and I think it will last a good long time.
Great Pump- But Need Adapter Pump arrived today, works fine. But, be aware that it has a 1 1/4″ MPT outlet and a garden hose adapter. If you want full output into a 1 1/4″ hose or pipe, get an female-to-male adapter. Amazon’s “Frequently Bought Together” showed the Little Giant 24′ sump pump hose(…). I ordered this- be aware that it has a male adapter (same as pump!) and will NOT work directly with this pump.
Great back up pump. During the largest rainfall Chicago has ever seen, this pump came in very handy. When my regular sump pump couldn’t keep up with the torrential rain, I dropped this in the sump pit and connected it to a garden hose that I ran outside. This little pump ran like a champ! It kept the regular pump from being overwhelmed. I would buy it again in a heartbeat. You will want to get a float switch if you intend to use it as I did; I did not have the switch and had to babysit the pump by plugging and unplugging as the water rose and fell. Great pump to sit on a shelf for an emergency.
