great solar fountain Great small, solar fountain! Even works on partly cloudy days! We’re using the head shown in the picture and it generally sprays about 6-10 inches high, depending on strength of sunshine. On windy days, we take that off and just let it bubbleout of the main tube, to avoid losing excess water, however, we have it in a wash tub, and are not using the weight, so thatcould probly be remedied. I kind of like it floating free though.Hope it lasts several years, but we’ll have to see. So far so good; just what I wanted, works well, easy, and free power supply!
Perfect for what I needed I had dug a small pond roughly 3×4′ by 18″ deep. I’ve never had a pond so didn’t know what sort of “water treatment” program I was going to need (hence the reason I went small) it is my understanding you need some sort of water movement at the very least so after reading many solar pump reviews decided on this one. I’m very happy with it. It took only a couple minutes to hook up and as soon as I plopped it into the water it began spraying. It sprays about 6-10″ like someone else had said and it does work even with some minor cloudiness, which according to the reviews most other solar fountains will not. Shortly after placing the pump onto the surface butterflies began visiting and now a toad. I have my pond in mostly full sun so the pump runs from about late morning until late afternoon/early evening. If you have a small water feature and aren’t worried about it needing to work 24/7 this will probably satisfy. I will say that the bright green lily is slightly gaudy but I can’t think of what other color they’d use and if you have enough floating plants you probably won’t notice it.
Great for Koi Ponds This product works great for small Koi Ponds but definitely NOT for small farm ponds. Too little water movement and plugs often.
