Unreliable reception I purchased this item and installed fresh batteries, carefully following the instructions to get everything started up in the right sequence. I got initial readings for both indoor & outdoor temperatures, and some subsequent updates while the receiver and transmitter were about 2 feet away from each other. Nice compact unit I use one of these in my motor home. I start out by putting the outside sensor next to the base unit for a few hours to see if there is a difference in temperatures. In other units I have seen as many as 5 degrees of difference, in this unit there was only a decimal point of difference.
