Very Pretty! (I’d upgrade it to five stars if I could…) When I first opened the package, I was a bit dismayed, because it seemed to have fewer petals on the lotus blossom than were shown in the picture. I quickly realized that the petals were there, they were just all bent in an upward position around the center. So, with a few minor adjustments, all was well. This dripper seems to be made out of real copper, not just junk metal with copper paint on it. It is designed to go in a rather shallow bowl, as shown in the picture. So, if you have a deeper bowl, you will want to set this on top of an upside-down clay pot or similar object. What I really really like is the very heavy soapstone base within which the pump fits. This base removes the problem that I had with similar items in the past – many copper spitters or drippers tip over too easily, as they are top-heavy by design. I bought this to replace an absolutely darling frog spitter that spent much of its time on its side, no matter how much I wedged and wired it to other objects. I can’t imagine that I will have that problem with this item. The pump has a slider adjustment on the side to control the amount of water flowing through. It can be adjusted from a steady stream to a trickle. The petals can be bent up or down to control the direction of the streams of water.I did not give this item five stars because I have yet to see how durable the pump will be. I will post an update at a later date, with information regarding durability.I am very pleased with this purchase so far.Update: December 12, 2009Still going strong without a hint of problems. The copper is turning green on surfaces exposed to air – actually I think it’s quite pretty that way.
Serene sounds of the garden It’s pricey but if you’re looking for something to last awhile this has held up for 2 years without any mishaps. It does require cleaning every few days or it will clog up. My complaint, it does NOT automatically shut off when the bowl gets too dry. Overall better than anything else I have seen out on the market.
lovely fountain Lovey fountain with a nice sound that is great for birds & butterflies. A nice addition to our yard.
