This model has the venturi feature which I did not utilize because I was happy with the original setup (attached to a box filtration … Turns out to be the same pump which I bought 12 years ago. The original ran day in day out for all that time and finally developed a few chips on the impeller probably from stuff in the water. Good pump for a simple water feature pond. Nothing to dislike about this pump. It was cheap and powerful enough for my purposes. The specs for the pump could be a little easier to find, though.I may have also, temporarily, rigged it up to my kids slide, with a pool at the bottom, effectively making my backyard into a water park.Disclaimer:If you do this, be safe! Works great. We run a simple ‘water feature’ pond in the front yard, for roughly 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.I have cleaned the large pore ‘foam’ filter once or twice this year due to leaf debris and algae. Simple wash off in the sink and I was good to go.Keep the filter on it, and you don’t get debris in the impeller, which will mean a long life to your pump.Only down side? Short length of power cord.
