they are still glowing a bit at 4am! these are the brightest of all the solar powered led outdoor lights i’ve bought.they give off a bright white light and they stay on long after other lights have retired for the evening. its 430 am here right now, and two of them are still glowing if only a little bit.i originally bought them with the intent of installing them on 4 fence posts BUT they are closer to 5 in x 5 in than 4 inches (which is the standard side of a fence post) so i don’t know if they would have worked as a post light. i staked them into the grass next to a path around my garden. well built, long lasting and very attractive.
Works surprisingly well After reading reviews of other solar powered outdoor lights, I was worried that these wouldn’t work that well. I was pleasantly surprised by these lights. I put them in my side yard between the house and a fence. They receive good sunlight for part of the day but are in the shade for other parts (shaded by the fence). Nonetheless, so far they are getting sufficient sunlight to last very long into the night on most days. One day when I got up before dawn, three of the four lights were still on (lasting the entire night). The fourth is a bit more shaded than the others so it not lasting through the night is expected.The lights are also sufficiently bright for my needs. It is a dark walkway and they light the path gently but effectively. The ridged casing also makes for an interesting lighting pattern that is kind of neat. They aren’t near the brightness of powered lights but I was again pleasantly surprised. The lights worked right out of the box after letting them charge up for a day or two.Why don’t I rate them five stars? The enclosure itself is only average aesthetically. They are plastic and the surrounding trim doesn’t fit tightly. Nonetheless, I recommend these lights. They work quite well for lighting my side yard path, they were easy to install, and they last very late into the night. The only outstanding issue is how long the rechargeable batteries will last. The manual claims about a year but I won’t be able to comment on that until next year 🙂
