If there is a job that you think tape would be the right answer to, gaffer tape is the right tape for that job.There is no plastic/vinyl back as you would find on duct tape, but the cotton backing of this product is very strong, yet tears easily for when you removing a piece from the roll or splitting it lengthwise. But the real reason I swear by this tape is the adhesive. The adhesive is very strong, but peels off plastic or metals without leaving adhesive residue behind, even weeks after you first apply it.These rolls are small enough that you can stick a couple in your bag, and it’s a lot easier to deal with than the old method of winding some gaff tape off your 50 yard spool onto a pen/pencil.
