microGAFFER Tape 8 Yards x 1″- Pack of 4 Rolls, Classic Colors: White, Grey & Black

Very good gaffer tape in really good sizes. If you already know what gaffer tape is, then all you need to know about this is that the rolls in this package are about 2″ in diameter with 2 black rolls, one neutral grey roll and one white roll. I think the tape itself is as nice as any I have ever used (and far far better than any no brand gaff tape I have used). If you’re not sure what gaffer tape is (or why it’s $20 for such a small amount of tape), allow me to explain. Gaffer (or gaffers or gaff) tape is a cloth backed adhesive tape used by live action film electricians to secure cables, cords and other widgets. It’s also incredibly useful for photographers to hang remote strobes, cables, miniature backdrops and reflectors, or hold things out of the way. If there is a job that you think tape would be the right answer to, gaffer tape is the right tape for that job. There is no plastic/vinyl back as you would find on duct tape, but the cotton backing of this product is very strong, yet tears easily for when you removing a piece from the roll or splitting it lengthwise. But the real reason I swear by this tape is the adhesive. The adhesive is very strong, but peels off plastic or metals without leaving adhesive residue behind, even weeks after you first apply it.These rolls are small enough that you can stick a couple in your bag, and it’s a lot easier to deal with than the old method of winding some gaff tape off your 50 yard spool onto a pen/pencil.
