Storage Container I am very pleased with the new Rubbermaid Storage Shed. Since I am a widow, I didn’t know how I was going to get the box to the backyard where it was assembled and stored. The delivery man was so good to put in the backyard. The unit was well marked but I do recommend following the instructions. A neighbor friend and I put it together. The only struggle was getting the steel bar support across the front of the unit. We found out it belonged hanging on the outside and not inside. Other than that issue (if we read the instructions) it was not too difficult to put together. I like the look of it and it holds my gardening equipment and then some.The only thing lacking was the offer of purchasing shelves for this unit to put pottery and other items on it. My neighbor will be making some shelves and installing them himself.I recommend this unit for a sturdy Rubbermaid Storage Shed. Joan, San Clemente, CA
5L10 Rubbermaid 2-ft 4-in x 4-ft 7-in Resin Storage Shed. 5L10 Rubbermaid 2-ft 4-in x 4-ft 7-in Resin Storage Shed.Lowe’s Item # 321512 ($323 out the door in Los Angeles, CA).This is the 4th type of storage shed acquired and the best so far. The Rubbermaid shed sold by Home Depot is not a good one; #37492 (2″ wide x 1’7″ deep x 5’7″ high).5L10 Rubbermaid shed is a good outdoor closet. It is not too deep providing easy access to the contents. Each shed was used only to store one category, i.e. one for gardening tools, one for the table saw & accessories, one for the router table & accessories, one for car parts, etc.The most time consuming part is preparing the concrete slab foundation. Primed and painted the plated metal bar and hooks to resist rust. The display units at Lowe’s were already rusted. Replaced the screws with stainless steel .McMaster Carr #:22 pcs. – 92470A313 Pan Head Phillips Screw For Sheet Metal 18-8 Stainless Steel, No. 14 Size, 3/4″ Length One for each hook – 93085A557 18-8 SS 100 Deg Flat Head Phillips Machine Screw 1/4″-28 Thread, 1/2″ Length, MS24693-C294.Assembly of the unit alone is tricky but can be done, requires access to all sides. Unit is light enough to move onto the final location. Install the “Front Left Side (G)” into the “Front Floor (A)”while supporting the back panel “Left Back (D)” bottom with the foot (top of safety shoes). Have to use a rubber mallet in a few cases (have 5 of this unit, plan to buy 5 more) to fully engage the tongue at the bottom of the panels into the floor slot. It was a bit challenging to install the outside back roof screws since the stainless steel screws (replacement) are non-magnetic. The roof was weighted down with bricks at the inside screw (4) installation points to make sure the roof is fully down on top of the side panel.Attach the door handle and the lock hasp before installing the door to the shed in order to open the door. The door hinge top boss must be inserted in the roof cavity before roof assembly. One shed has a deformed protrusion for the hinge pin, have to use pliers to straighten the boss.The doors will not function properly if the roof was not assembled or fitted correctly with the side panels and the metal beam “Roof Brace (RB)”. On some sheds, the bent leg with the hole prevents the shed roof from fitting on the side panel.Some shed(s) were used to store items where moisture is not desirable. The visible gaps were sealed with “GE Premium Waterproof Silicone” before installing the insulation. A 1-1/2″ thick Polystyrene insulation was installed along the top, back & sides and a snug fitting removable panel at the door.Home Depot # 732813100096 – 1-1/2in x 4ft x 8 ft; Model # 310880 Store SKU # 614645.The insulation foam was cut using the 2-QC Wind-lock hot knife.A .060″ thick stainless steel sheet was used to reinforce the plastic floor. The concentrated load from casters, wheels, etc. must be distributed to prevent the plastic floor from failing.
