The pond is balled up and takes at least 2 people to unfold and try to form into a pond-like shape. The waterfall is pretty much useless, so dont buy for this feature. Left pond liner in the sun for a few hours while we got the ground ready to insert the pond. After getting the ground/hole ready, we put into the hole and added water and got in to push out all the wrinkles and straighten out the best we could. It is pretty hard to get straight, but seems to get a bit better after completely filling with water and letting sit. After completing everything, the only things I found useful in this kit is the liner & pump (great value for this size pump)…the fountain may be useful to someone else, but I purchased a filter/pump/fountain combo seperately and kept the kit fountain as back-up. We made our own waterfall out of granite pieces/rocks and purchased a longer pump tube because the one in the kit was too short for a waterfall. Soooo, overall, I would advise just to get the hard, preformed pond and buy the pump, filter, fountain combo and if you want a waterfall, build your own (very easy, just silicone very well with clear)
