Pretty, but badly constructed I received this fountain as a birthday gift, and while it’s very pretty to look at, the way it is constructed leads me to believe that I will burn out the pump very quickly. The manufacturer stresses that the pump must stay submerged in water at all times. However the water reservoir is constructed such that if you fill in enough water to keep the pump submerged while the fountain is running, you will have water running out the back as soon as you turn the fountain off, because of the access window in the back which is difficult to seal off due to cables coming through on the side. A call to the manufacturer didn’t bring much satisfaction, since I was simply told no one else ever had a problem with this. Also, the pump is very loud, so the soothing flow of water that I was looking forward to is so overpowered by the pump noise that I can only stand it about 1/2 hour at a time. I would not buy a product from this manufacturer after this experience.
I hope for the manufacturer’s sake they aren’t all this bad. The fountain was a Christmas gift for my wife. She liked the look of the fountain but I was amazed by the poor quality of the fountain I received. I took the fountain out of the box and one of the first things I noticed is that the transformer plug (the big brick that plugs into the wall) was split at the seem into two pieces and all the wires were exposed. Since I’m pretty handy I was able to line everything back up and used a very strong electrical tape to tape up the transformer (figuring an ugly plug was better than the hassle of returning the fountain). So I followed the instructions and got it hooked up and it seemed to run good, until we noticed the puddle of water accumulating on the counter near the fountain. I cleaned it up assuming that I must have spilled some water when I was filling the fountain. But it just kept coming. I found at least three separate leaks. I have to agree with other reviewers that this was poorly built. It is a great looking fountain that I will never buy again and would recommend that you steer clear of unless you like taking chances with products you buy.I expected the normal great return policy that I’ve come to expect from amazon, but it said they have to request approval for me to return the product. Hopefully the manufacturer will handle the return process promptly and not make it more difficult than it needs to be. I will update when I have completed the return process.
