A rickety piece of junk While I didn’t expect the heft of cast-iron, the utter cheapness of this item was incredibly disappointing. It not only looks cheap, it is so lightweight that I expect it to tip over in the first strong wind. The metal came scratched in the box and scratched easily during the process of putting it together. In just a month of it being installed, the bolts are rusty, as is the gate latch. Finally, the quality control was simply unacceptable. One piece was broken, other pieces had incomplete fittings, and still other pieces did not all fit together appropriately (think of having two left shoes in a box). When I called for replacement parts, Plow & Hearth initially wanted me to wait a week for UPS pickup but finally simply sent me the replacement parts. Even those did not work completely, still missing fittings and ultimately needing me to crimp some of the existing fittings so they fit together. It’s a rickety piece of junk.
