The Coleman Portable Motion-Sensor Light is perfect for anywhere you want a light that turns on automatically when movement is detected. Use it outside as a security or utility light, or inside for those infrequently-used, hard-to-light places like closets, basements, crawlspaces and attics. The Motion-Sensor Light runs on 3 AAA batteries (included), so you don’t need an electrical outlet. It detects movement and illuminates a 25-foot perimeter. The handy folding stand lets you stand it up or wall-mount it, or use the included lanyard to hang it from a hook or nail, and aim it as needed. The Motion-Sensor Light uses five Nichia 5mm LEDs, for a bright white light that never needs replacing. Two light modes (On and Auto-On) let you choose between continuous lighting or timed, motion-activated light. It’s water-resistant and impact-resistant, so it stands up to heavy outdoor use.

Great Power-Out Light This compact lightweight light works great to disperse enough light throughout a room such as a kitchen, bathroom, or bedroom to get around for basics without the flicker or danger of candles when the electricity is out.Where a flashlight directs a spotlight beam in only one area and has to be held or awkwardly propped up, this light spreads light out over a wider area and can sit flat or angled up on its built in stand on a table or dresser or hang from the strap. It works especially nice if you turn the light away from you to bounce the light off a wall or ceiling and distribute it even more softly/evenly.The light uses 3 AA batteries which is a plus. If you’re like most people, that’s the most common size battery in your home and usually still in stock in stores during extended power outages. Since LED bulbs create significantly more light than standard bulbs for less energy, the batteries last a great deal longer.We were very thankful to discover and purchase 2 of these lights at an area store during a recent multiple day power outage in our area, but are looking forward to using them in our tent when camping.The only reason I held back 1 star is that the Motion Sensor feature could be a better design. I found that the light didn’t stay on long enough for my taste/preference when used at the “Auto” motion sensing setting. I’m extremely sensitive to flashing lights and didn’t like how fast it turned off after coming on when I entered a room. I found I would turn off the motion sensing once I entered a room or just keep it turned off.
very happy with this light after reading the reviews I was under the impression that the light doesn’t light up for very long, but I tested it out yesterday and once it is motion activated it stays lit for about a minute if the motion stops. You do need to get pretty close to it for it to light up but that’s not an issue for me as I plan to use it as a security feature in my tent and put it by the zipper opening. It’s pretty smal but lights up bright. Overall I really like it and would recomend this light (to other paranoid security freeks like me :)!
