Does not work…Again I installed this product as instructed. The first problem I have is that my recharbable batteries do not fit. They fit just fine in everything else I use them for, but not in this. I bought Duracell alkalines and was barely able to get them in and close the lid. The lid by the way is not weather tight (there is no seal). I was able to make it work fine and was able to aim it the way I wanted while in Test mode. However, once I put it in Auto mode (you can put it either a 4 min. or 12 min. mode) the light I had plugged into it would not shut off. I tried different plugs to make sure something wasn’t interfearing with the signal and it still does not shut off. The light every few minutes flashes and the alarm (which sound like a doorbell) rings twice. I will try and call customer service when I can, of course they are EST and so they close at @ 2PM here on the West Coast to see if they have a suggestion before I return it. I will update this review after I talk to them. By the way, when changing the batteries, plan on having to go through the aiming process again because the batteries fit so tight you can not get them in or out without moving the sensor. Hopefuly the batteries will last a long time so this will be minimised.I called tech support and they suggested changing the code (there are 16). I tried all codes and it would not work. They said to return the item, so I will exchange it one time. If the nest one doesn’t work I will just return it for a refund.I recieved the second unit today and installed it. Of course it does the same exact thing. Clearly this company has issues with quaility control. I had the reciever base mounted no more then 30′ away from the sensor and it is rated up to 100′. I even put the reciever on an extension cord and put it 10′ away and outside to see if it was something funky with the house and it still did not work. Do not buy this product. It is junk.
Works Great Product is very sensitive and picks up quite a bit of motion. Very easy to setup. May buy another one. I have this monitoring the yard under my children’s windows and feel more secure knowing it is there. The charm inside the house when set to high can’t be missed.
Home owner This is the second one. The first one lasted about 5 years and I let the batteries corrode in it. They are great for monitoring the garage entrance(put it just inside the door. To make it a daytime security, just put a piece of tape over the photo cell. It will alarm 24/7. A set of batteries will last over a year.
