Most rain barrels on the market don’t fully utilize the water they hold because the spigot is located about halfway up the barrel. This is to allow buckets to be filled, but leaves about a quarter of the water behind. And this remaining water is standing which can be hazardous. Barrels with optimally located spigots don’t allow room for buckets and leave only hoses as the draining option. Doesn’t fit barrel I bought this stand to go with my “Rain Wizard” barrel. It is a good distance from the ground to allow for a watering can below and it is a match in color to the rain barrel, which is great. But…It does not fit the barrel! The form of the stand should allow the barrel to fit in the grooves for a steadier fit. The stand must be placed AWAY from the house for a stable barrel which is placed AGAINST the house. My barrel can be seen from the street in profile so it makes for a less pleasing view. All in all, however , I do like this stand. Perhaps the manufacturer will improve on its design someday.
Buckled when the rainbarrel filled up. It bent when the barrel filled up the first time. (50 gallons = 350 pounds). I think I will replace it with conrete blocks or bricks at the end of the year. In the meantime, the barrel is upright, but leaning at about a 10-15 degree angle. Save your mone on this one.
Rain Wizard Stands These rain wizard stands are great. The are very substantial and will hold up any rain barrel with no problem. I now have 3 of them and am pleased with all of them. You will happy with these. Not a single problem. They will last for years.
