Excellent for growing vining plants… I don’t typically buy things without reviews on Amazon…but I risked it! I purchased this trellis for a specific purpose…to grow green beans on it. I assembled it on my own in about 10-15 minutes. I was overwhelmed when I saw the amount of parts and screws, but it was very simple once I got going. I did not need help doing it. It comes in a smaller box than I expected. It is VERY lightweight. For my purpose, this was fine. The bottom 4 legs have little removable plastic stoppers…probably because they assume you will sit it upright right on top of the ground. I will tell you that you will NOT be able to do that. The metal is a little flimsy, and so I removed the stoppers and then pushed it into the ground about 6 inches. I had to lose some height this way, but it looked better, and was more sturdy. Once assembled it looked cock-eyed which is why I rated it 4 stars. But like I said, driving it into the ground about 6 inches straightened it up and i looks fine. It’s dark green in color. I would not grow anything heavy on the trellis…roses would not be good for this. Maybe a light weight vining flower. I have green beans on mine and it’s great for that. I’m not sure how it will hold up…I imagine the screws will rust after a season or two. But for my purpose, and most, it will be covered by plants. Don’t buy this for a sit about…It’s not pretty on it’s own. You must grow something on it. I don’t regret the purchase…is very functional and was within my price range. Also, I wanted to add that this arrive 2 days flat after I bought it and it wasn’t a Prime item…incredibly FAST shipping on this. I order and received it in May of 2001.
Nature’s touche’ I purchased this exact arbor from a sister company called Nature’s Touch. It was described in their catalog as being forged of iron!!!! For $19.99(on sale from $22.99) I couldn’t believe it!(I shouldn’t have). I ordered 3 of them. I recieved them over a week later and was enraged to find that this company falsely advertised the making of this arch. On top of being scammed I was also treated like I’m an idiot. A supervisor in the company actually said this arch is made of iron, she says it’s just not the type of iron I expected!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The cheap(and I do mean CHEAP)arch is made of the thinnest tubular metal. Years ago I had purcased a similar cheap arch as this which in it’s first and only year of it’s existance, the screws rusted and one limb from a tree made it part of my town recycle pile at the transfer station. So to fix this situation the company tells me to send them back, but, it gets better!!!it’s going to cost me the $$$$ to ship the cheap things back. I will never purchase from this company or “Collection’s Etc” again. Comment: @ least “Collections Etc.” advertises that it is made of metal.
