Health Zenith 110 degree motion detector works best. I have 3 motion detector lights around my house. 1 110 degree, 1 180 degree and 1 240 degree. The only one that does not give me any trouble is the 110 degree unit. Both the 180 and 240 degree motions have been nothing but trouble. I’ve replaced them both within the past year and still can not get them to work right. The 180 degree unit works when it wants. It will either turn on for no reason or it won’t turn on at all. The 240 degree unit is constantly turning on when it’s windy, raining or nothing going on around it. I’ve turned down the sensitivity to low. Now you have to walk practically under it to get it to light, yet it still turns on when it’s windy or raining wasting electricity. The only one that works perfect is the 110 degree unit which has been on my house since I bought it three years ago. It never turns on for no reason and always turns on plenty of time before you get near it. I guess the more degrees coverage means more false triggering. I am going to replace my 180 degree unit which is now not working with a 110 degree sensor and later on will probably replace the 240 degreee unit with the 110 also.
Works as Expected This is a low end motion sensitive light fixture, but it works as expected. I had lots of problems with higher end, more expensive, models, but this one seems to have the right balance between sensitivity to real moving objects and avoiding falsely getting turned on be wind blown plants. One thing, there isn’t a way to seal the gap between the light bulbs and the lamp holder to reduce moister penetrating into the bases of the bulbs. The more expensive models have a soft plastic disk that goes over the base of the bulb.
These are crap Bought them for much more at Lowes. After a year or so they stop sensing & stay on all nite. There is a reason they are on clearance. Junk!!!
