Very Effective Sprayer I’ve had this only a couple of days, and I bought it locally (couldn’t wait) for more money, but I am very happy with the performance of this machine. It’s basically a vacuum cleaner-style motor that shoots a fine mist (adjustable for density) of whatever you’ve got in the tank. The range is 6′ to maybe 10′ – perfect for taller plants – and the coverage even at medium density is impressive. I first fogged in the evening and used the high-density setting, but when I did more at night with a headlamp, I could see that even medium and light density fog gives almost total coverage. The down side is weight – full of 2gal of solution, it’s a bear to carry around. If the wand were longer that would help, but you can leave it on the ground and easily shoot the fog 8′ or so up/out. Spider mites hide under the leaves so that’s good, but to get the tops of the top leaves covered you have to step back and shoot over the top.The wand gets warm – almost hot even – after a while. I don’t know what’s up with that since it’s electric and there’s no flame, but it’s not uncomfortable with gloves on and doesn’t get excessive.I’ve never used a fogger before and didn’t know what to expect, so I’m a newbie at this. That said, I couldn’t be happier with the effectiveness of this unit. I started with a standard sprayer but this fogger is so much more effective I took the sprayer back.
What an upgrade!!! This means business! I fog my yard with liquid insecticide to put a dent in the spring and summer bug counts. I have a Fogmaster Jr that does what this does for half the price. I decided to buy this because I wanted more power. The Fogmaster Jr. can shoot 1.875 gallons per hour, the Hudson 99598 can shoot FOURTEEN gallons per hour — more than seven times the output! Twice the price and seven times the output seemed like a good deal to me, so I gladly made the investment. This may be the most powerful electric fogger on the market. To get more power than this, you pretty much have to go with gas-powered backpack models. The only issue I had is that it took me about three tries to get the tank to mount without falling off when it was about 3/4 full, but I won’t take a star off for that. It definitely weighs a good 20 pounds or so when it’s full so if physical ability is an issue, there are probably lighter weight options.I finally feel like I have the right tool for the job after dealing with other underwhelming products.
