8X12.5 model with 1 year update I just put my shed together and wanted to point out a few things. The large back shelf and front corner shelves seem to be needed for structural support. The shelves stick out about about a foot in the back. There are two corner shelves in the front by the door. Additional shelves are expensive.Dimensions are based on the roof which over hangs slightly. The procedure of screwing into plastic seems very “Mickey Mouse”.It was very easy to strip the plastic, I used a drill with a 25 step clutch, the clutch was set on 1. (Go slow)Expansions to make the shed larger are available and are expensive.Salesman told me it could hold 18 inches of snow, directions say 6 inches, and another reviewer complained about damage with 3-4 inches of snow.Instructions were good, and fairly easy to follow. The setup was time consuming but fairly easy.Looks good. The concrete base I placed it on was not 100% level (it is cracked) this made assemble more difficult but it turned out fine.I would not lock anything in the shed and expect it to be very secure from theft. The shed is relatively light and could be pushed around if empty. It is recommended that the shed be anchored.1 Year update. The shed has held together quite well. It has held up 4-6 inches a snow without issue and the snow sluffs off rather quickly. The wire shelving I have in the shed has crushed the floor in the area where they stand. The “skylights” are inadaquate the side windows are better, if I did add an extension I’d make sure it was the version with windows on it.2nd Year update.Dang, three updates now and some of you folks don’t find this helpful? What do you want to know, post it in comments? Sometimes the top slide lock on the stationary door slips down and has to be pushed back into place. If you have something heavy leaning on the side of the shed it will bulge out a bit. Other than that it is doing fine.
Love my shed!!! This shed took 2 of us about 12 hours to put together. The directions were very good and everything fit perfectly! Three years later, it still looks as good as the day we built it and it holds up to Michigan winters well. Yesterday my plastic thumb latch on my door handle broke. I wish they would have had a better design than plastic, but I just called Lifetime Customer Service line and they are sending me a free replacement part. I don’t anticipate many more problems because this shed is QUALITY construction. The 10-year warranty and cooperative Customer Service is surely a positve. As another review said, the shelving could have used better support bars and most of the “extras” are expensive and not worth the price. I suggest getting the basic shed and building your own shelving.
