One year’s warranty.
The MicroSolar SP1 can deliver 8~12 hours of 50 Lumen once fully charged.
How does it work?
During the day the MicroSolar SP1 Spotlight’s 1 watt solar panel charges its internal 1500 mAh Lithium Ion battery giving it the power it needs to activate after dark.
After dark, the SP1 will activate as soon as it detects darkness. At dawn, the SP1 stops activating and starts charging again, preparing for the night ahead.
How do I install it?
Find the best location for your solar panel within 5 meters of where you plan to have the spotlight. The location needs to be as SOUTH facing as possible and free from light obstructions such as buildings, trees, fences, bushes or the shadows that these create.
1. Position solar panel in desired location
2. Face the panel to the SOUTH, and adjust the angle between the panel surface and horizon.
3. Position the light in desired location.
4. Connect solar panel cable to the light.
How waterproof is it?
The SP1 Solar Security Light is IP55 rated. Waterproofing is rated by the IP (International Protection) system which consists of the letters “IP” followed by two digits. The first digit after IP ranks a products protection against solid objects. The second digit after the IP rates a products ability to protect against liquids. The SP1 Solar Spotlight is IP55 rated. IP55 means the light is protected against dust – limited ingress (no harmful deposit) and protected against strong jets of water e.g. for use on ship decks – limited ingress permitted.

Lights up my Crape Myrtle I bought this because it allowed me to put a spotlight on a nice crape myrtle tree in my backyard, and not have to run any power cords. The setup is simple, and it works right out of the box. The light is bright, turns on automatically at dusk (around 8:30 currently), and I’ve noticed it still on around 3:00 AM. It has turned off by 5:30 AM, so it is not an all-night light. If you’re thinking about it for security you probably want another solution. It’s perfect for my needs…
