The Mr. Beams Step Light has one LED providing 20 lumens of light. The bright LED never needs replacing–it’s so efficient that you will get more than 5,000 activations on one set of batteries with the auto shut-off set to 20 seconds. The stair light instantly turns on when it detects motion, and can detect motion from as far as 12 feet away with 180 degrees of vision. The Mr. Beams motion sensor indoor/ outdoor LED step light turns off automatically when no motion is detected, conserving battery life. The automatic shut-off period is adjustable using a switch to select between 20 or 60 seconds of delay from the last motion that was detected to shutting the light off.

In glow mode, the LED light will remain turned on at a very low light level. At the very low light level, the light serves as a marker light identifying where the edge of the stairs are, for example. When a user approaches, the motion sensor will turn the light on to a bright light output to provide more light. After the auto shut-off time in which motion has not been detected, the MB522 Step Lights will return to LED glow mode.

Inadequate lighting is a leading cause of unintentional injuries due to falls in the household. The MB522 LED motion sensor step lights can reduce the likelihood of falls by illuminating stairs and hallways. The LED glow mode operates all the time to provide a marker light for someone to know, for example, where the stairs start. When someone gets close enough, the motion detector will turn the light on brightly to offer real path or stair lighting to light up the walkway.
