Aesthetically Appealing The only reason I am not giving this product 5 stars is because of the way these lights mount to your deck or staircase. Although the lights appear to be solid, housed in a metal frame, the mounting hardware is plastic and appears to be a weak point in the installation of these lights. Sooner or later these little plastic tabs, which secure the light to my deck, will break and I’m going to have to devise a homemade solution for keeping these lights in place. The lights themselves are very nice. They emit a white light, not too bright and mark the corners of my deck very well. Since they only get about 4 hours of direct sunlight in the location where they are, they only stay lit for about 3+ hours or so at night starting at dusk. For safety and some mood lighting, they work well enough and I am quite satisfied after 2 weeks.
Handy These are just what I was needing. We use them for some steps we have in our very big and very dark backyard. They are not too bright giving just enough light to allow us to see where the steps start and end. We like using the solar lights because we don’t need a lot of light, we just want to see where we are stepping. Because our yard is so dark, solar lights work well for us.However, it was a challenge to place this vertically on the steps because the steps are not tall enough to rotate the light in place. We ended up using some 3m double sided tape to install them.
