Piece of junk I knew not to expect much when I bought this, although I got to say I was expecting to make at least one season with this. The box came in the mail yesterday. I immediatly tried to set it up. I soon discovered they failed to give me all the pieces to the base. I jirry rigged something together to make it work without the part. The instructions were absolutly lousy and there were no instructions on how to put the thing back down once it was up. Knowing there was a storm brewing I immediatly put it down and tied it to my fence. The very next day I try to put it back up and thats when everything went bad to worse. I noticed a rip in the fabric which appeared to have been done by a bent rod that didn’t have any caps. I opened it a tiny bit to try and seperate the bars appropriatly when a bar complely fell off. Tried to continue to put it up when I discovered the main support that holds all the bars in place was snapped. There was no fixing that part so this is now going in the trash its not worth the shipping to send it back, besides I wouldn’t even be able to fit it back in the box it came with the snapped and bent pieces. It is a great idea if they didn’t make it out of plastic and soft metel. For that one second I had it up I liked it and it fit my patio perfectly. Shame the SunSetter costs so much money, but perhaps I might have to invest in it.
I guess I got lucky I guess I got lucky because I got a good one and after reading the other reviews I don’t dare open this thing on a windy day not even on a breezy day. And your right the stand that comes with it will not support the umbrella when it is open. I had to buy a tub and some concrete (See Customer image) but that allowed the umbrella to rotate 360 deg. So when it’s not over the Spa it can be over the Loveseat and chairs. Mine was well worth the cost and like the other guy I am planning on buying another one.
outdoor umbrella No instructions, hard to maneuver….currently trying to swap it for something else. also, it was not the rectangular umbrella, it’s a square.
