Oregon Scientific is not what they used to be! We have had Oregon Scientific rain gauges for a lot of years. The first one lasted for years. When it died, I bought the exact same one again. It lasted about a year. I bought the same one again. After six months, the rain gauge was no longer reporting to the house. New batteries didn’t help. Love this practical & efficient unit! I’ve had 2 of these units in 7 years. I work on a ranch, and left the rain gauge outside all year, so the heat smoked the components, I think, which is why we ordered a second unit. I have to keep rain records for the State of CA, and like knowing I can come back after a weekend off and find how much rain fell two days ago, for instance.
