Awesome product I was very pleased with this purchase. The installation was easy and the product looks great as deck step lights. It is also not difficult to replace the bulbs…the bulbs in my other lights had to be done by “feel” and was difficult. I would recommend these lights highly!
Good Purchase Ordered a dozen of these for my new landscaping project. Turned out great – will definitely recommend. These are rated for the decks, so the screw that comes with it goes into a wooden deck. I installed these into my retaining walls using anchors (they do not come with anchors, since it is meant for wooden decks) and they fit perfectly fine. So, these can be used across wooden or retaining walls. I was worried if they will come with a glass that covers the bulb (description does not mention anything about this), because typically, the glass cover is glazed and that reduces the intensity of the light. Was happy to discover that there was no glass cover.I think its just me, I needed a brighter light, so planning to replace the 7w with 11w for a few of them.Installation was a breeze, connector box contacts worked fine – this morning, went through the first big rain, so far so good. Will update this review after summer after 6 months use.
Look closely at the photo! I bought this as a low cost replacement for a Malibu light that no longer worked. In looking at the picture, I thought it looked like there is a glass or plastic cover over the bulb making the fixture round. Got it today only to find there is no glass cover, just open air under the copper top and no protection for the light bulb. Anyway, I was looking for a match to my Malibu’s and didn’t get it because I didn’t look closely enough to the photo. Maybe a case of “assume”, I don’t know. Anyway, I hooked it up to my Malibu set and it works so I can’t complain about that part and it looks good as long as you don’t look too closely for the glass cover part. Buyer beware, it was much cheaper than the Malibu and now I know why. But, it works fine and was very easy to hook up so all was not lost. I also just looked at the picture on the box it came in and it still looks to me like there is a cover over the light bulb. I guess you’d call this an optical disillusion!
