Perfect Light for Above Ground Pools This light really lights up our Intex 15ft. metal frame pool at night! Despite being only 35 watts, there is no problem seeing the whole pool, from side to side, at night.I really wanted one of those pool lights that float on the surface of the pool and are rechargeable, but I just couldn’t afford one of those. I saw this product on another website (a large, well-known retailer) and the reviews were great. So, I purchased it…hoping the reviews were accurate.I was very shocked, and pleased, that this product works so well and lights up the entire pool!Just don’t leave it on when not using the pool unless you have your pool area screened-in, because this light will attract bugs to your pool. The other night the light accidentally remained on all night and in the morning my pool was full of white moths and crickets (and other little insects) floating on the surface! It took me 30 minutes to skim all the bugs out!Pros:Lights up the whole pool.Slim design does not interfere with swimming in the pool.Cons: (if these can even be considered cons…)Must be manually turned on and off (by plugging/unplugging it).Attracts bugs to the pool.Great product. Five starts despite the two cons, since neither one have to do with the functionality of the light itself.
BeWare… Was looking forward to getting a light that would work for my above ground 18 x 33 foot pool. The description spoke about not fitting the larger top rail. No PICTURE was provided on how the top rail looks. I know that my model pool came with 2 different size top rails and I had the smaller one. I assumed it would fit. So when I received the light, it was for a 1 1/2 pvc pipe like rail. I felt it was very miss leading to make me think it was going to work. I made the light work to my pool, but I had to almost re-design it to work. The light does work, but if I would have seen a photo on how it was to mount, I would have known it wasn’t what I wanted and that it wouldn’t work. I’m one that don’t like to send things back… So come on Vendors… show the Whole picture of the product you are selling.
Pool LIght Requires Imagination The manufacturer clearly states that this light is not meant to fit on an Intex Ultra Frame above ground pool. I read other reviews on Amazon and noticed that some buyers used zip ties that seemed to work. Taking a similar approacha and with a bit of trial and error, I was able to mount the light with a coupld of heavy duty (very heavy duty) twist ties. We are very pleased with the light. It does a good job of completely lighting our 24′ x 52″ pool.
