These work well for me. These were great lights for my purposes. I am having grand children and cub scouts make mason jar lights out of them. They are perfect little night lights. I take off the stem and stake and just use the top part. I put them in a decorative 1/2 pint jar. (take the inside seal out of the jar and cut out a circle of clear plastic (I used the top of old clear strawberry packets) to replace that seal in the jar ring.
