For the first time use, please remove the top of the light from the base and you should see an on/off switch. Once turned on the battery will receive the charge from the solar panel. When it is dark out they will automatically turn on, and turn off once there is day light. If the AA batteries run out, please replace them with new ones.

Clearly do not know what they are selling The light come is three pieces: The light itself, the stainless steel body and a plastic insert to be pushed into the ground. The stainless steel is quite nicely made. Can’t say as much for the light itself.The description on the box says it has a AA NiMH 300mAH battery. I was wondering where it would be. Turns out after I took it apart, it actually contains a AAA NiCd 600mAH battery. Makes me wonder what else is wrong in the specifications of the light. Another thing I noticed is that the LED is completely bent coming out of its housing. After taking a closer look, I found out that the design is extremely poor. A small piece of PCB with a resistor is supposed to be inserted in a plastic bracket. The LED was so poorly soldered in place that they had to break the bracket to fit the LED which is bent sticking out and the PCB is actually interfering with the on/off switch. It is pretty messed up…
Less expensive than Walmart and free shipping Less expensive than Walmart, well packed, and quick delivery. I appreciate that kind of service.As to the lights, the quality is good and they put out as much light at you would expect from one led, however the ‘lens’ and the reflector in the base of the lens magnifies it enough to cover a descent area dimly. Not as bright as a nightlight you use indoors but bright enough to keep you from tripping over something.
