Inaccurate — don’t waste your money… Springfield 5 1/4 inch Dial ThermometerThis device has large numbers so it can be read at quite a distance. You can also adjust the setting. For example, if it’s actually 70 degrees, but the thermometer reads 65, rotate the spring clip on the rear so the dial reads 70.The problem with ours was that when it was correct at 70, it read 40 when it was actually 30 degrees outside. If it was adjusted to read 30 when it was 30, it would then say 60 when it was actually 70…
A perfectly good thermometer for the money I live in Florida, so a temperature range of -60 to 120 is certainly overkill for me. I’d love to have a Florida thermometer with a more limited range spread out over a large dial, for easy and precise reading. I couldn’t find one.But this thermometer is OK. It’s easy to read the approximate temp from a distance; then, if you need to know the exact temp, you can move in closer.As for accuracy, I adjusted it by one degree to agree with a digital thermometer we already…
