Nice desk lamp at a very good price. I build automobile and railroad models as a hobby. I have a circular fluorescent magnifying lamp, but at my age I needed some extra lighting to augment what I had. At age 69 I welcome it. This excellent desk lamp has filled the bill with nice white ambient lighting. It is attractive, not too big, adjustable and doesn’t take up a lot of room on my work table. The base is heavy enough so the lamp is stable and doesn’t tip over. Simple assembly consists of just plugging the fluorescent tube into the lamp’s socket. Very happy with it and the price was right. Entire purchase transaction was perfect for me.
Decent lamp for an extremely decent price. I was admittedly skeptical about whether a lamp at such a low price was going to hold up and not fail, fall apart or be just plain lame. While I would not exactly call this the Cadillac of SAD lamps, it has far surpassed my expectations of longevity and basic quality. I’ve had it now for over six months and had exactly zero problems with it. I plan to order one for my office. Living in the Pacific northwest, a nice bright desk lamp can make a big difference during the winter months. I actually don’t know if this qualifies technically as a “S.A.D.” lamp, since it didn’t come with any documentation specifying that it puts out the proper light frequencies that are associated with this type of light, but it certainly has a placebo effect as though it was. Anyway, for a fraction of the price of a real SAD lamp, this would seem to be a very viable approximation of one, if not actually possessing these qualities; only someone more knowledgeable on SAD lamps could say for certain–the box knows not.
Fantastic! I’ve been using this type of lam[..]with one of those politically correct long lasting bulbs. And it was ruining my eyes! I took a chance on this in spite of the mixed reviews (there’s always one or two disgruntled buyers).. But I am ecstatic over the results. It is so beautiful in my situation. My eyes don’t strain any more. I can see the computer screen, the written materials on the desk and the ham radios on the other side of the desk – all with such a feeling of natural light. Saved my sorry eyes I will tell you that. Here’s what my radio looks like [.]
