solid light at reasonable prive simple but reasonably well made and very nice exterior coating; nice yellow-ish glow from the glass shadeupdate: this is a solid light but it used to be at a reasonable price of $65. the 60% increase to over $100 in a slow economy is hard to justify and should cause you to consider low priced designer lights
What a fantastic purchase! I am writing this review for anyone like me, who has a porch light WITHOUT a dawn to dusk sensor and has been trying to find an after-market screw on adapter to make it work like one so they won’t have to invest in a new porch light like this one. Bottom line: Stop fighting it and just buy this thing already. I tried every screw on dawn to dusk adapter available and they all either didn’t work well or stopped working after a short amount of time. In the end, I spent MORE than the cost of this porch light on all those failed attempts and finally just bit the bullet and bought this thing.Suffice to say, it works great! Turns on at dusk and off by the time I wake up. Just as advertised. I also think it looks great and I love the yellow glow it gives off. I resist CFL bulbs because I hate their blueish tint, but because of the yellow shade this lamp comes with, it’s almost as if you have a candle in the thing.A great purchase that I should have made years ago.
Great quality light Love the look of this light. Very sturdy construction. The bronze is beautiful and so is the amber art glass. This light looks great with my Craftsman house. I bought two. One for my back door and one for my garage door. The photocell really makes these work well for security lights and because they use the energy efficient flourescent lamps, you don’t have to worry about it adding too much to your electric bill.
