These things have a large flame, and the smoke, which I think is the purpose. I lit three of them tonight, and was no bitten once. I think I will not need to purchase a bug zapper for that part of the yard now. I have an acre yard and have a few bug zappers going now. Lovely! These are lovely!The colors are perfect with my patio cushions, and I love that they burn the oil and keep away some bugs – I am in NC, and we have LOTS of them! One thing to keep in mind, they burn a LARGE flame – just as large as the flame on a torch you might have on a pole. I had visions of grouping these together in the middle of the table as a centerpiece, but as you can see from the photo, that might be a bit of a hazard. I will just space them a little further apart. LOVE…
