If you LIKE paying MORE $ for a Lower Quality Thermometer—then you’ll Love this one. This thermometer is attractive (viewed from a distance) because it looks like a chunk of wood. I like that idea and relative cosmetic appeal. However, unfortunately it appears to be an injection molded plastic case with the standard cheap bi-metal spring and very flimsy temperature pointer/indicator. Nice but doesn’t work properly I bought this in January for my husband’s birthday. It seemed to be working, at least nothing stood out that it wasn’t, at first. However, we soon learned that it doesn’t keep an accurate temperature. It will not go above 83-ish degrees. We live in Texas. It gets much hotter than that in the summer. My husband tried working on the sensor and at first that helped but it went right back to sticking at 80 degrees. Its a lovely piece of decor but we had to put our ugly, tiny thermometer back…
