Verify the Correct Wire Size Needed BEFORE Ordering I ordered this wire based on the suggested, “People who bought this also bought …” items Amazon routinely provided when I ordered the transformer. BIG MISTAKE. The gauge of wire you need is dictated by the number of low voltage lights on the run, the wattage of each light and the overall length of the wire run you need to make. I learned about this on the side of the box the transformer came in — WHY the manufacturer didn’t just share this CRITICAL piece of information in their…
Good quality wire, neatly wound. While it would have been nice to have on a spool, this wire is perfectly manageable out of the bag. As with anything, working neatly and using care in unwinding the wire along the run of lights makes installation very simple.I should mention that it is important to align the wire in the connector youâre using. I have, so far, installed 18 lights and had to reposition the wire in the connector twice (because the light didnât come on) which quickly and easily rectified the issue…

The wire itself is probably fine, but the insulation is thicker than expected. Most likely this thickness is intended to help extend underground burial survival, but I know it will NOT fit the blue 3M Scotchlok connectors which I use to do inline waterproof splicing. Wound up getting another brand that is also thick but still…
