Not too shabby This light was easy to install and it works pretty well. I note that the motion detector works more like 20 feet away than 30 feet. Also, if you have a number of guests come by or you’re in and out during the night, the unit gets pretty dim in the wee hours of the morning, just before the sun comes up. Also, it needs to be installed where it can get direct sunlight during the day to work well. Mounting this on the north side of a building might leave something to be desired… But it does work pretty well for illuminating a front or die doorway, providing more than enough light to select a key and work a lock or to find something you dropped. So all in all it does what it claims to do and installing it is simple and straight forward.
Best of all the solar lights I would recommend this product as delivering 100% of promised service. It is bright when activated and after 2 months it has been problem free. Easy to install and works as specified. I have kept the plastic casing over the light as an added precaution due to high levels of rainfall.
Died in less than 2 weeks REVISED As of April…BOTH the ones I purchased work fine. I did NOTHING to them. They are mounted one above the other. Even though they face WEST…they must take a lot of sun …because it is August now and they work great.I purchased 2 of these about a month or so ago but stupidly did not use them right away. Two weeks ago I hung one up under my porch where it is protected from the rain but close enough to the edge to still get sun light. My Florida porch gets DIRECT West facing sunlight with no shade. It shone a bit even when off which was great and really turned on when it sensed motion. IT worked great for 2 weeks.Tonight I walk out onto my porch – no light. The thing is dead.Buyer beware. Now I have to see if my delay will nullify my getting my money back on this useless product.
