Not for Goldfinches and small birds The rim does not have a place for Goldfinches, Chickadees, and other small birds to grip with their feet, the rim is smooth. I keep a branch in the bath so the birds have something to hold on to. A similar birdbath has holes around the rim. It’s pictured on the left. I Absolutely Love It! I absolutely love my bird bath! It is really cute. Mine matches the color of the bottom of the photograph at the shaft and base. I put it together very quickly and easily.
