Not “instant read” in my opinion This is disappointing on a couple of levels. The positives first: I like the swiveling head which will make it easier to read in a variety of situations, and I like that the probe tip is smaller than a standard meat thermometer which will make for a smaller entry hole.The negatives: instant read in this case means 15 seconds. LARGE letters. Easy to Read. This really looks like some kind of torture device, but it does work well and has very large letters for those of us who have a difficult time seeing the teeny tiny writing on everything these days.
