If your fountain has a rubber stopper with the pump cord that goes through….
Rubber Stopper Exchange Instructions (DRAIN PLUG)
The rubber stopper is part of the fountain, not the pump. It needs to be removed from the old cord and installed on the new one. This can be done by removing (cutting them off) the plugs.
1. Cut the old cord right where the stopper connects to it.
2. Gently twist and pry the rubber stopper off. If it does not come apart, as a last resort, you can slice the stopper, carefully with a razor, where it attaches to the cord (do not slice entire stopper). This can be fixed as later explained.
3. Cut the plug off of your new pump as close to the plug as possible. Slide stopper onto new pump cord to desired location and seal it with silicone (and/or waterproof tape if available) if necessary.
4. A new plug can be purchased at your local hardware store for under $5 and easily wired onto the new pump cord. If you are not familiar with wiring, we recommend hiring a licensed electrician or someone with wiring experience.
5. If you had to slice the stopper as earlier described, it is best to seal with a few wraps of waterproof tape (not electrical tape) Please contact us for special waterproof tape if necessary
6. When wrapping tape around cord be carful not to let tape stick or bond to itself. Tape has no adhesive but is difficult to undo once it has bonded together. It will only take 3 or 4 wraps to complete the process.
rip off company I also was trying to replace a jebao pump that come with a fountain. I thought ” oh great” I have the name of the company and the model#. I could have ordered from another company but I thought I would replace the pump with the original pump that was in the fountain I bought, who wouldnt do that? I couldnt go wrong. Order it, and the cord length was not the same as the one I have, same model # but it was different??? I asked for help, but John Harrington was rude, unhelpful and determined that I (as the customer) lose. All I wanted was a pump that would work… I notified him of the return, I asked for a return label. No you dont get return label… I paid $13.00 to return (to track it because of mistrust) only to find out that this company doesnt refund the total price of the item. They take 15% off even if it is their fault, dont be fooled. By the way just got this email from John Harrington: Our orginal shipping fees are not refunded. Why would they be? It was not our fault you did not read the specs and ordered the wrong pump. If you had emaild an asked the cord length we would have told you. All our terms are on our site.Grow up.MY response to that is: I had the model #, why wasnt it the same…. ? I already spent $13.00 to refund, but take 15% off the total price to refund me with! UNHEARD OF.
