The Mr. Beams MB854 slim LED light is a bright battery-powered motion sensor light that attaches anywhere for instant bright light without wires. Attach under a cabinet, in a pantry, under a shelf, in a closet or utility room, as a task light or inside a drawer–it’s the same size as a smartphone for easy placement. Motion Sensor Activated

Photocell Activates LED Only in Low Ambient Light

The slim light has a photocell inside that activates the LED when it is somewhat dark to conserve battery life. When installed the slim light should be installed in a space that is fairly dark. It does not have to be complete darkness as the light sensor will enable the light if the detected light level is low (with a light intensity below about 10 lux at the light).

Tips on Operation

For indoor use only. A kit is included for use as an under cabinet light. This kit includes a sticker that can be attached to the unit to limit the motion detection range and reduce activations from foot traffic.

Installation under a cabinet or shelf can be done by first installing the mounting plate with the provided screws or double sided tape. The double sided tape is strong enough for permanent installation or you can also use the provided screws. After your light is installed in its permanent location, the motion sensor will trigger the light as soon as movement is detected. The Mr. Beams Slim LED Light will automatically shut off when after a period of time of no motion.

To optimize battery life, set the auto shutoff to 20 seconds. The motion sensor should always be oriented so that the sensor is closest to the walkway / front of cabinet / front of shelf where motion is to be detected. The best mounting location for the unit is as far away from the walkway / front of cabinet / front of shelf as possible while still illuminating the target surface. If the light is activating by motion too often, reposition the light further away from traffic. Excessive activation by motion will result in faster battery drain.
