They seem thinner and less durable then a standard light, but that is probably necessary since there are several wires needed to create the cascading effect. The big issue with these lights: if you turn the power to the lights off, it will reset the box that controls what “mode” you wan the lights in. Not good for roof lighting These lights were not what I thought they would be. For the use of outdoor lights to go along my roof line, it was not the ideal product.
