Gread idea and quality product! I purchased this item directly from the EZ-Frames, it is of high quality and those who purchase it will not be disappointed. For approximately a buck a bracket, it saves time and error when constructing a shed (or in my case a greenhouse). No need to worry about cutting correct angles on roof rafters as the brackets are designed to have lumber with square cuts on them. Heavy duty quality plastic is used. My only complaint is I still have snow outside and have to wait till spring to take it outside!
My greenhouse is full! I purchased the 10×16 EZ Frames kit about a month ago. I was able to assemble almost all of it by myself in a weekend, with a little help from my husband. We had recycled windows that fit perfectly between the vertical supports, which we put around the base on both of the long sides, and that added a lot of stability and weight to the greenhouse, which we really need since we live in a very windy area. We also added some extra diagonal supports with 2x4s on the short ends, to help with the windy conditions here. We covered the rest of it with greenhouse film, and now my greenhouse is nearly full of the seedlings that I had under grow lights inside. I love it! I think the instructions could have been a little clearer in certain areas, but I still rate it 5 stars!!
A fair product to get people that never made a shed before to try it For the long pieces that need to be straighter you may want to go pressurized (green) wood -this can be hard to find and costs 3-4x more than the typical $1 8′ 2×2. When you buy these 2×2’s you may want to test their straightness on a concrete floor before purchasing them (very important). The brackets are plastic and will break if flexed to hard during construction.I actually broke this kit down into a 10×8 polycarbonate greenhouse and at 10×10 polycarbonate storage building by buying another smaller kit ($40) for the ends. Polycarbonate is very stiff and complements the flex of these joints. My base is 2 pressure treated 2×4 that are screwed together and the whole building can be pulled/moved (can use wood logs/dowels etc to help roll it). The screws for polycarbonate are very important and should have the foam washer that is polycarbonate compatible and allows tension (sheet metal screws with rubber washer are cheaper and seem to work also).Max size for this type of construction that is moveable in my opinion is 10×10 -and that is very large for a storage shed or green house. You can get a lawn tractor in there easy and still have plenty of room. The corrugated (single-wall) polycarbonate worked very well with this kit since you can see thru it better than the double wall. The whole structure will flex and must be square-up (applying the polycarbonate (is square) helps with this).a 10×10 kit ($99) + wood $70 + single wall corrugated polycarbonate $200+, hinges for doors $15, screws $20 You now have a greenhouse/storage unit that can be moved around. =Hard to beat that but it will take some time to make and you will need 2-3 people to help put it up and externally brace it during construction.
