- This Skytech Smart Stat II/III fireplace remote control system was developed to provide a safe, reliable, and user-friendly remote control system for gas heating appliances. The system can be operated thermostatically or manually from the transmitter. The system operates on radio frequencies (RF) within a 20′ range using non-directional signals. The system operates one of 1,048,567 security codes that are programmed into the transmitter at the factory; the remote receiver’s code must be matched to that of the transmitter prior to initial use.
Excellent replacement for Heat-N-Glow OEM unit circa 2004. BackgroundThis was a replacement for a Heat-N-Glow gas standing pilot fireplace original automatic wireless control unit. The OEM unit circa 2004 had off, on and a temperature on off capability. I am impressed with this remote I have two heat-n-glow fireplaces in our home. Upstairs a remote came installed and works very well (stock remote).Downstairs we have never had a remote and were constantly required to lie down on the floor, flip down the front grille, and find/turn the gas knob in order to start the fireplace.Upon checking the upstairs wiring I could see that it was pre-wired for the remote.
