Pretty, but not like the picture shown. It’s a very pretty lantern. The color in the pic shown is the pic on the side of the box. When it is glowing, it’s just blue. There is no hint of pink or purple like is shown in the picture. I assumed from the pic that the glass was colored and the light was white LED. But it’s not. The light is blue and the glass is clear. But it’s a pretty color of blue. Different from what I have seen out there as far as solar lights go.On a sunny day, it will glow all night. If the day is overcast, it will only glow for a few hours at night.Overall, I really do like the light.
Nice item… eventually! This is a fairly nicely made solar-powered garden object d’art with a hanging crystal and single LED light pointing at it. The packaging was excellent with a professional box showing the item lit in all its glory and upon opening it I was pleased to note there wasn’t any assembly required aside from popping the solar panel on top and screwing it in. The metal scroll work is well done and the overall quality belies its lower price.Sadly on the first night there was no light display to be seen. The on/off button doesn’t clearly denote when the charging panel is actually on or off as it looks the same in both states. So on the second night of darkess, after toggling the switch, and not being afraid of wielding a soldering iron I decided to open the solar panel up. Firstly I was happy to see there’s a hefty Nimh battery in there but sadly it’s a 2/3rds size AA which is much less common to get hold of should you need to replace it.The interior construction was very simple – a tiny breadboard, resistor, some wires going to and from the switch, globs of silicon and the LED itself. I couldn’t see anything loose or unattached so I went ahead and put it all back together with the intention of fixing it another day. And what do you know… the next night it lit up! I guess I re-lodged something back into place. So it now looks great in both the day time and at night. Sadly, as another reviewer noted, the light is pure blue; no color change or purple lighting as hinted at in the current product pic.For me this isn’t a deal breaker and really doesn’t detract from a very nice piece will look good on your patio or deck’s table any time of the day.
looks better in the picture when i received the item. the picture of its resembles a blue clear type glass. when it came and i took it out of the box the glass is green and not very see through at all. we left it to charge its solar so we could see how it looked at night. not bright at all.. and not even very pretty.. now it hasnt worked on two weeks.
