Smarter and works only in the dark . Other comparable lights usually come with three dials that is adjustable for sensitivity, darkness, length of light intervals . They are not reliable or easy to tamper with . This one comes without any dials and is automatic from day one. All you need to do is mount it and it charges up until it is ready to go.
