Home Improver Pro on the Kindle Fire & HD: Time saver for DIY projects There are a number of apps for calculating and measurement conversion here, and one could also use a hand calculator or the tried and true pencil and notepad method. on the original Kindle Fire and the newer Kindle Fire HD series eliminates those, and for quick and dirty measurement and estimating space and cost, this is a little gem for DIY projects… and more.At just 2.2Mb, this app downloads quickly, and it’s a fast installation. The interface is quite well done. Pick the place you want to start from the inside or outside, then job that you want to do, such as your yard, patio or pool, then the materials. Do you want to build a wood deck? Enter the numbers and follow the interface: you’ll know how much you’ll need in materials and a good estimate as to what it’s going to cost. The product description of what this handy app can do is very accurate, and the images will let you know what to expect once you have it installed. It would be suggested that if you plan to have your 1st generation Kindle Fire handy during the DIY construction process, especially where wet concrete or a lot of flying sawdust is around, get a or other such protector so that your device doesn’t get ruined in the process. Just sayin’…The app on either the Kindle Fire or the Kindle Fire HD series will save you time, money and headaches on your next DIY project. The price is right, and it could also be a handy quick-and-dirty app for the small independent contractor for doing quick cost estimates.10/7/2012
wasn’t what I thought it was I thought this app would help me visualize and create some design plans but all it is is a big toy calculator for basic supplies. There’s no real “design” aspect. If I wanted to redo my kitchen the only thing this app could tell me how much pant I would need and it’s cost. I could find something free online or put it in a home calculator rather than this app. So disappointed. Wish I could get my money back.
For the clueless!! Home improvement cost are in a completely different world compared to what I do for a living! It really gave me awareness of how a contractor could really rake you over if you know nothing of the cost of the materials and the time that should be alotted for the job at hand! Now when I have to have a contractor do some of my projects around the house I at least have something to go by! Ive even developed enough interest since getting this app I have advanced myself to a truly beginner project manger
